Mission:
The Freedom Marathon, Inc. (FMI) is a 501(c)(3) NON-PROFIT organization whose mission is to raise awareness and enlist support from the public for the needs of Veterans and their families through an annual running event that takes place during the Veterans Day Weekend in the City of Norfolk, Virginia. Our message is one of hope to the nation's Veterans and their families, assuring them that America has not forgotten their sacrifices.
Vision:
The Freedom Marathon’s goals include increasing public awareness of the needs of those who have sacrificed the most for our country; educating the community to their needs and highlighting the importance of a healthy lifestyle. The proceeds generated from the annual Freedom Marathon will be used to provide access to services and assistance that will ensure a brighter, better tomorrow for veterans and their families.

Goals:
The Freedom Marathon will excel as a premier event in the world of high-profile sporting events by adopting and exceeding sports industry standards for excellence. This event will lead the transformation of recreational sports program worldwide. Through the Freedom Marathon’s diverse programs that support the development of physical fitness, health and wellness; we envision a dynamic program that positively engages and encourages people of all ages and levels of fitness to participate. Ideally, the program will enable each individual to achieve their potential and maintain the strength in mind and body to meet challenges of work and life.
