Marketing Intern

General Description

The marketing intern will:

  • Create and execute a branding strategy for the city of Norfolk;
  • Identify potential sponsors;
  • Work with other volunteers to help with PR, ads, copywriting, customer follow-up;
  • Support events with branding and marketing efforts.

Duties include:

  • Creating a branding strategy for the city of Norfolk;
  • Implement branding strategy work with local business to gain alliances and sponsorships;
  • Staffing registration tables at events;
  • Create mailing lists;
  • Submitting internal web requests and forms and formatting quarterly newsletters to be mailed out to registered participants.

Required Knowledge & Skills:

  • Candidate should be capable of initiating and maintaining strong personal relationships;
  • In addition, he/she should be able to coordinate with all the departments involved to ensure the completion of the associated marketing programs;
  • A high degree of organization and self-motivation is required;
  • This person must quickly learn the product and the market;
  • He/She must also stay aware of the upcoming local events where Freedom Marathon could be promoted.
