The Official Freedom Marathon, Inc (FMI) Charity Program is a compassionate means of giving back to worthy charities. Through the FMI “Give Back” program, you can donate to any listed charitable organizations and programs. For information on becoming one of our 2012 Official Charity Partners, please send your name and contact information to Director, Charity Partners Program, Ms. Susan Snead at: Eligibility The charity partner that agrees to recruiting a minimum of 15 runners is welcome to apply to become an Official Freedom Marathon, Inc Charity Partner of any events offered during race weekend. Weekend Events Offered The events offered during the Veterans’ Day Weekend of November 9-11, 2012 are the Freedom Marathon & Half Marathon; Marathon 4-Person Relay; Half Marathon 2-Person Relay; Cup Challenges (Military Cup Challenge, Organization Cup Challenge, and Scholastic Cup Challenge); Eagle Challenge (Run the 5k on Saturday and the Marathon on Sunday); Freedom Challenge (Run the 5k on Saturday and the Half Marathon on Sunday) – these challenges count as two entries; Wounded Warrior & Family Fun Run/Walk 5k, and the Freedom Mile (Kids’ Warrior Trot). Tenure The tenure of the Official Charity’s rights at the 2012 Second Annual Norfolk Freedom Marathon & Half Marathon extends from the date the signed Official Charity Agreement is received by the Director, Charity Partners Program and lasts until four weeks after the event execution in November 9-11, 2012. |
Official Norfolk Freedom Marathon & Half Marathon Charity Benefits FMI Event Logo and FMI Name Use. As an Official Charity of the Norfolk Freedom Marathon & Half Marathon the charity may use the event logo and the name of the event in their recruiting, fundraising, and marketing efforts. The Official Charity must use the full and complete official name of the event to include Title and Presenting sponsor names when applicable in their recruiting, fundraising, and marketing efforts. The Official Charities must use of FMI’s Event logo and FMI’s event name four weeks after the event for which the charity signed for. An Official Charity Partner may continue to use FMI’s Event logo and FMI’s name uninterruptedly if there is an Official Charity Agreement for continuance as an Official Charity Partner for as long as for the agreed tenure. The Official Charity Partner is authorized to use FMI’s Event Logo and FMI’s name on their race shirts and/or on any merchandise whether or not for sale. Website Visibility: FMI will include the Official Charity Partners logos linked to/from the charity page of the 2012 Norfolk Freedom Marathon & Half Marathon charity web page. The Official Charity Partner footprint on FMI’s Official Charity web page will include:
Health & Fitness Expo Booth: The Official Charity Partner will receive an additional 10% discount of the already discounted 10’ x 10’ expo booth for two days at the Norfolk Scope Arena. Click here to register for an Expo booth (FMI will reimburse the additional 10% once registered – allow four weeks from date of registration). Charity Expo Booths are limited, hence, allocation is on a first-come, first-served basis. Health & Fitness Expo Announcements: The Official Charity Partners will be included in the event announcements read at the Health and Fitness Expo days (two days) to be held at the Norfolk Scope Arena, Exhibit Halls C & D (provide two sentences to the Director, Charity Partners Program). Goodie Bag Insert: The Official Charity Partner may insert one time in the Norfolk Freedom Marathon & Half Marathon Health & Fitness Expo goodie bags. Goodie Bags are distributed to all race participants and volunteers. The Official Charity Partner may insert the item at NO COST. Start Line & Finish Line Announcements: The Official Charity Partners will be included in the event announcements read at the Start Line & Finish Line on race day (provide two sentences to the Director, Charity Partners Program). Official Charity Partner Finish Line Tent: FMI has 10’ x 10’ tent in the Charity Village in the finish area for a small donation (please contact Director, Charity Partners Program) . The Official Charity Partners are encourage to bring their own branded 10’ x 10’ tent. Official Charity Partners, if desired can be invoiced for the tent, table and chair rental costs). Official Charity Partner Finish Line Tent CHALLENGE: FMI will provide at no extra charge (FREE) the following to those Official Charity Partners with at least 50 registered charity participants:
Hotel Block Planning: For those Official Charity Partners desiring to block hotel rooms, please contact the Director, Charity Partners to coordinate and find an appropriate room block with suitable amenities and room rate for the charity’s needs. |
