Cup Challenge Competitions
Cup Challenge competitions will be held on the Marathon & Half Marathon courses. Click HERE for course maps.
There are THREE Main Categories for the “Cup Challenge” competition for the Freedom Marathon & Half Marathon respectively:

Military Cup Challenge:
- A perpetual cup awarded to the top military team (scored by combined time) entered in competition.
- Unlimited entries per military team, scoring only the top 3 (five is the minimum number of entries per team).
- Must be ACTIVE DUTY ONLY with proof of current service provided.
- Entry fee to be calculated the same as the “going rate” at the time of registration.
- All registrations for team members in this category must check “Military Challenge Team.”
- Team Name must be the same on all registrations with no abbreviations.
- Unit singlet’s and shirts are encouraged.
- All Military runners maintain eligibility for respective age group awards and will receive their finisher’s medal.

Organization Cup Challenge:
- A perpetual cup awarded to the top Organization (non-military and scored by combined time) entered in competition.
- Unlimited entries per civilian team, scoring only the top 3 (five is the minimum number of entries per team).
- Any organization (such as corporate, private, church, social including area Running Clubs, non-profit organizations, such as area YMCA’s, American Cancer, ARC, Leukemia Society Team In Training, etc.) are encouraged to race for the “Organization Cup.”
- Entry fee to be calculated the same as the “going rate” at the time of registration.
- All registrations for team members in this category must check “Organization Cup Challenge.”
- Organizational Singlet’s or shirts are most encouraged.
- All Organizational team runners maintain eligibility for respective age group awards and will receive their finisher’s medal.

Scholastic Cup Challenge:
- A perpetual cup awarded to the top University/College/High School Team (scored by combined time) entered in competition.
- Universities, Colleges & High Schools must enter teams of five runners, scoring only the top 3.
- Multiple teams from each University, College or High School are encouraged.
- Entry fee to be calculated the same as the “going rate” at the time of registration.
- The team registration must be checked “Scholastic Cup Challenge.”
- University/College/High School Track & Cross Country singlet’s are most encouraged.
- All University/College/High School team runners maintain eligibility for respective age group awards and will receive their finisher’s medal.
